5x112 to 5x130 PCD Adapter (66.6mm to 71.6mm)
What's included
In every kit
2× hubcentric PCD adapters — bored to 66.6mm → 71.6mm, in your chosen thickness
Supplied without wheel bolts — this kit does not include hardware. Your existing bolts will be too short once the PCD adapter is fitted, so you'll need a set of extended bolts matched to your PCD adapter's thickness. Get in touch and we can source these for you, or fit your own — either way, you must check them against your car before fitting.
Check your bolts before fitting
This adapter is supplied without bolts, and vehicles vary by model year, market, trim and previous modifications — we can’t see what is fitted to your car. It is the responsibility of the buyer and whoever fits these parts to check every bolt against the car before use. Do not fit any bolt you have not checked.
This is a bolt-to-bolt adapter, so there are two separate bolted joints, and both must be right. The bolts that hold the adapter to the car and the bolts that hold the wheel to the adapter each need the correct thread, the correct seat and full thread engagement.
Joint 1 — adapter to car
- Measure a bolt from your car.Remove one of your existing wheel bolts and note its thread size, pitch, thread length and seat type.
- Match the adapter-to-hub bolts to it.They must be the same thread size and pitch as your hub, and the seat must suit the adapter’s bolt holes.
- Confirm full thread engagement in the hub. Each bolt must engage your hub by at least as much thread as your original wheel bolt did — never less — without bottoming out or fouling anything behind the hub. What is thread engagement? It’s how much of the bolt’s thread is actually screwed into the hub — this is what holds your wheel on. Simple check: when you take out an original bolt, count how many full turns it takes to come out once it’s loose. After fitting, each new bolt must take at least that many full turns to screw in by hand before its head reaches the adapter. Fewer turns means less thread holding the wheel on — do not drive the car. If a bolt stops turning before its head reaches the adapter, it may be too long or cross-threaded — don’t force it. Once every bolt is in, tighten them to your vehicle manufacturer’s specified torque setting using a torque wrench — check your owner’s handbook or a main dealer for the correct figure for your car.
- Check the bolt heads sit below the adapter face. The heads must sit fully inside their holes so the wheel can clamp flat against the adapter.
Joint 2 — wheel to adapter
- Match the thread to the adapter. The wheel bolts must match the thread size and pitch tapped into the adapter, which may differ from your car’s original bolts.
- Match the seat to your wheel. The seat type must match the wheels you are fitting, not the car. What is the seat? It’s the shape of the underside of the bolt head — the part that presses against your wheel. It’s usually either cone-shaped (called “conical” or “60° taper”) or rounded (called “ball” or “radius”). It must match the shape of the bolt holes in your wheel: the wrong shape only touches the wheel on a thin edge and can work loose. Simple check: hold a new bolt up to one of your wheel’s bolt holes — the underside of the head should sit snugly in the hole’s shape.
- Confirm full thread engagement in the adapter. Each bolt must engage the adapter’s threads fully, and any length that passes through must not touch the hub, brakes or the adapter-to-hub bolts behind it. In plain terms: the bolt should screw through the whole depth of the adapter’s threaded hole by hand, smoothly, until its head reaches the wheel. If it stops before the head reaches the wheel, it’s too long or cross-threaded; if it only catches a few turns, it’s too short — either way, don’t drive the car. Once every bolt is in, tighten them to your vehicle manufacturer’s specified torque setting using a torque wrench — check your owner’s handbook or a main dealer for the correct figure for your car.
If anything doesn’t match on either joint, don’t fit it — contact us with photos and measurements first. Fitting should be done by a competent person or a professional garage. Re-check all bolts after the first 50–100 miles. Brightstone Engineering cannot accept responsibility for problems caused by fitting bolts that have not been checked against the vehicle as described above.
5x112 to 5x130 PCD Adapter (66.6mm to 71.6mm)
Converts a 5×112 hub (66.6mm bore) to run 5×130 wheels with a 71.6mm centre bore — the pattern used across Porsche's water-cooled range. Built for owners of Audi A4/A5/A6/A7/Q5/Q7, Mercedes and VW Passat/Arteon who want to fit Porsche-pattern wheels. Also known as a wheel adapter or bolt pattern adapter — it's the same part.
| From PCD / bore | 5×112, 66.6mm |
| To PCD / bore | 5×130, 71.6mm |
| Thickness | 15mm, 20mm or 25mm |
| Fixing type | Bolt-to-bolt |
| Bolts included | No — correct bolt length depends on your exact car and wheel, contact us to source the right ones |
| Material | 6082-T6 billet aluminium |
| Made in | UK |
Each adapter is hubcentric on both faces — the vehicle-side bore is machined to 66.6mm to locate precisely on your existing Audi/Mercedes/VW hub, and the wheel-side register is machined to 71.6mm so 5×130 wheels centre correctly with no reliance on the bolts alone. The adapter bolts to your hub using extended bolts through the vehicle's original threaded holes, and the wheel then bolts directly onto the adapter's own threaded 5×130 holes. Extended bolts matched to your chosen thickness are required and sold separately.
Fitment note: the makes and models listed above are a guide to vehicles commonly using this hub and bore combination — they are not a guarantee of fitment. Specifications can vary by trim, model year and market, so please confirm your exact vehicle's PCD and centre bore before ordering. If you're at all unsure, contact us with your vehicle details and we'll confirm fitment before you buy.
5x112 to 5x130 Adapter FAQ
Will this fit my Audi A4, A6 or Mercedes?
Yes — this adapter is machined specifically around the 5×112, 66.6mm hub used on Audi A4/A5/A6/A7/Q5/Q7, most Mercedes models, and VW Passat/Arteon. If you're unsure whether your specific model or year shares this hub, send us your details before ordering.
Which wheels can I fit with this?
Any 5×130 wheel with a 71.6mm centre bore — the pattern used across Porsche's water-cooled 911, Boxster, Cayman and Panamera range.
Do I need to buy new bolts, or can I reuse my existing ones?
Yes, new bolts are needed. Contact us with your car and wheel details and we can source the correct bolts for you at an extra cost.
What thickness should I choose?
15mm gives a subtle offset change, 20mm is the most common choice for a noticeable stance improvement without pushing clearances, and 25mm is more aggressive — check clearance against your arch and suspension components before choosing 25mm.
Is this adapter hubcentric on both sides?
Yes. The vehicle-side face is machined to 66.6mm to locate on your hub exactly as your original wheel does, and the wheel-side face is machined to 71.6mm so 5×130 wheels centre on the adapter itself rather than relying on the bolts to hold the wheel in position.
