66.6mm or 57.1mm — Which Is Your Audi?

Every Audi in our current range shares the same 5×112 bolt pattern — the difference is centre bore. Larger saloons, Avants and Q-series SUVs use a 66.6mm bore. The smaller A3/S3/RS3, TT and R8 range uses a 57.1mm bore. Fitting the wrong one won't seat correctly on the hub, so check below before ordering.

First-generation Q7 (4L, 2005–2015) uses a 5×130 bolt pattern, not 5×112 — it isn't compatible with either product on this page. Only the current 4M-generation Q7 (2015–present) fits.

The A1 and S1 share their platform with smaller VW Group models and may use a different bolt pattern (5×100) entirely, not just a different bore. The Allroad isn't confirmed against either current product yet. All three need proper verification before we manufacture for them, not just an assumption.

Common Audi Wheel Spacer Mistakes

Assuming every Audi uses the same bore
All current-range Audis share 5×112 PCD, but the centre bore splits in two — 66.6mm for the larger saloons/Avants/Q-series, 57.1mm for A3/S3/RS3/TT/Q2/Q3/R8. Always check before ordering.

Buying universal, non-hubcentric spacers
Universal spacers rely on the wheel bolts alone to centre the wheel instead of the hub, which often causes vibration and uneven loading. Always use spacers hubcentric to your specific Audi.

Reusing the original wheel bolts
Standard-length bolts are too short once a spacer is added — thread engagement should be at least the bolt diameter (around 14mm for M14). Every Brightstone kit includes correctly sized extended bolts.

Using the wrong bolt seat type
OEM Audi wheels typically use a ball seat; many aftermarket alloys need a conical seat. Using the wrong seat type can damage the wheel or prevent proper clamping.

Skipping the re-torque check
Wheel bolts should always be re-checked after the first 50 miles to confirm the spacer has fully seated and clamping force is maintained.

Fitting Audi Wheel Spacers

Confirm your bore
Check whether your Audi is 66.6mm (larger platform/Q-series) or 57.1mm (A3/S3/RS3/TT/Q2/Q3/R8) before ordering. If unsure, message us your registration.

Clean the hub face
Remove any dirt, corrosion or debris. The spacer must sit perfectly flat against the hub for correct hubcentric seating.

Confirm bolt seat type
Check whether your wheels need a ball seat (most OEM) or conical seat (most aftermarket) bolt before fitting.

Locate the spacer on the hub
The spacer locates on the hub register and sits flush against the hub face. It should not rock or move once seated.

Refit the wheel with the supplied extended bolts
Torque to approximately 120Nm (always check your manual) using a calibrated torque wrench in a star pattern. Do not use an impact gun for final tightening.

Re-torque after 50 miles
Re-check bolt torque after the first drive to confirm the assembly has fully seated and clamping load is maintained.

Does my Audi use the 66.6mm or 57.1mm bore?

Are extended bolts included?

No — properly fitted hubcentric spacers don't change camber, caster or toe, since they don't alter any suspension geometry; they simply move the wheel further out along the existing hub axis. It's still worth a quick geometry check after any modification, particularly if you're also changing wheel offset significantly.
Can I run different thicknesses front and rear?
Yes — this is common on Audi, particularly on S and RS models. The product pages let you select and add multiple thicknesses to a single order.

Legal & MOT (UK)

The MOT test doesn't prohibit wheel spacers directly — it checks that wheels and tyres don't protrude beyond the bodywork. Correctly sized spacers that keep the wheel within the arch aren't an MOT concern on that basis. As with any modification, you should declare fitted spacers to your insurer. This is general guidance, not a substitute for checking your specific policy or vehicle requirements.
