Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is a bolt-on centre lock wheel adapter?
A bolt-on centre lock adapter is a precision-machined disc that mounts to your existing 5-stud hub using your standard wheel bolts or studs. On the outward face it presents a centre lock interface — the single large central nut and drive pin system used by Porsche GT3, GT3 RS, and other centre lock wheels. This means you can run genuine Porsche centre lock wheels, or compatible aftermarket centre lock wheels, without modifying or replacing your hubs.
Will this work on my Porsche 911 / Boxster / Cayman?
If your car has a 5x130mm PCD and a 71.6mm hub bore — which covers the vast majority of Porsche 911 (996, 997, 991, 992), Boxster (986, 987, 718), and Cayman (987c, 981, 718) models — then yes. When you enquire, just tell us your model, year, and generation and we'll confirm fitment before anything is made.
Which centre lock wheels are compatible?
The adapters are designed to work with wheels using the standard Porsche centre lock interface — this includes OEM Porsche GT3, GT3 RS, and Turbo centre lock wheels, as well as aftermarket options such as BBS E88, OZ Racing centre lock, and various Forgeline centre lock wheels. If you're unsure whether your specific wheels are compatible, share the make and model when you enquire and we'll check.
Do I need to modify my hubs or brakes?
No permanent modifications to your hubs or brakes are required. The adapter bolts directly onto your existing hub using the standard wheel bolt pattern. Your OEM brake discs and calipers remain untouched. The conversion is fully reversible — remove the adapters and your car returns to standard 5-stud configuration.
What material are the adapters made from?
Each adapter is CNC machined from 7075 aluminium alloy — the same high-strength aerospace-grade alloy used in performance automotive and motorsport applications. It offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and is significantly stronger than the more common 6061 alloy. All machining is done in-house at our UK workshop on a Haas CNC lathe and milling machine.
How does the made-to-order process work?
Get in touch via WhatsApp or our Contact Us form with your car details, the wheels you want to fit, and any offset or width requirements. We'll review your fitment, confirm compatibility, and provide a fixed quote. Once approved, we machine your adapters and typically dispatch within 4–6 weeks. We don't hold stock, every set is made specifically for your application.
How long does it take to receive my adapters?
Lead time is typically 4-6 working days from order confirmation, depending on current workshop schedule. We'll give you an accurate lead time when you enquire. If you have a specific deadline, for a track day or event, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate it.
Are these adapters road legal?
These adapters are precision-engineered components designed for fitment on vehicles. As with any non-OEM wheel fitment modification, it is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to ensure compliance with local road traffic legislation and their vehicle insurance policy. We strongly recommend informing your insurer of any wheel modification. If in doubt, consult a qualified engineer or your insurer before fitting.
Can I use these for track days or motorsport?
Yes, the adapter design and material specification are suited to performance use. Many Porsche owners use centre lock adapters specifically to enable fast wheel changes at track events. That said, always inspect your adapters and torque settings before and after any track session, as you would with any safety-critical wheel component.
What if my wheels have a non-standard centre lock interface?
Some aftermarket centre lock wheels use a slightly different drive pin spacing or nut thread spec. If your wheels are non-standard, share the specification with us when you enquire — in many cases we can machine the adapter to suit. We'll confirm before quoting.
